  I contacted Lawton's Home Health in Westphal, Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, to inquire about getting grab bars installed in our bathroom. My wife is 81 years old and has been wobbly on her feet lately. I wanted to have the security of knowing there is a grab bar she can hold onto when she is given a shower.

  I live in Toronto Ontario, and Lawtons Home Health Care Dartmouth NS location has been maintaining and repairing my mothers scooter (Pride Rally) for many years. I would like to say that Darren Smith in the sales Dept. Is very, very helpful, polite and truly professional. I compared repair and service call costs with other mobility scooter suppliers/service facilities in the Halifax and Dartmouth area even some from Kijiji Halifax and this location always has the best price the quickest service and the most knowledgeable staff I've ever dealt with, hats off to you and all your staff, this location comes highly recommended- and thanks again for all you've done for us.   I booked an appointment last week and was told the installer would be here sometime on Monday morning, February 5, 2018. I get a call at 8:55 am from the installer on Monday and he asks me what type of studs are in the building. I told him I think they are steel but wasn't sure. I called the office and they told me that the studs are steel.

  I called the installer back and told him the information. That is when he too, became very vague. He said he wasn't sure when he could come out and said he needed to check with Lawton's. Don't these two departments work with each other? I asked him if he had ever installed grab bars in a home that has steel studs before? I asked him when he would know when he would be out. I asked this week, next week or the week after? He told me he didn't know.

  I called Lawton's Drugs in Westphal because I knew about their home health department. When I called in a lady answered the phone. I began to inquire about the whole process of getting two grab bars installed. During the course of our five-minute conversation, she told me I would need to know where the studs are located. I live in an apartment and sorry but I do not own a stud finder. After a couple of minutes and the lady being very vague about any question I asked her, I told her that I don't think she knows what she is talking about and told her I would go elsewhere.

  I thought these guys were professionals and they couldn't give me a straight answer. This is without getting any work done and already they are causing me so much grief. Like I said, all I wanted was a couple of grab bars installed so my wife won't have a fall in the shower. Is that asking too much? I haven't dealt with a company that has such poor customer service in a long time. I would not recommend this company to anyone. I have since canceled the request and will have to look for another company to help me. When I called back to Lawton's to cancel the installation, the second woman I spoke to asked me if I wanted to talk to the manager. I told her no and ended the call.

  I contacted another company but they wanted to install a whole enclosure. All my wife needs is a couple of grab bars. I called Lawton's back because I couldn't find another company that does this kind of work. I spoke to another lady who told me that she would speak to the first lady I talked to and tell her that if she doesn't know the answers to the customer's questions, to ask someone. The second lady I spoke to seemed to know a little more and was able to answer my questions.

  Always friendly service, especially the techs who work in the health care department. When I needed a new adapted charging option to charge my daughters batteries for her power chair they stopped what they were doing and spent about a half hour making a compact option for me to charge my daughters batteries while out of her chair.
